Schedules: the holy book of sourcing
Once we’ve made some decisions, BFD will create what is known in this industry as, the “schedules”.
The schedules call out every item to be purchased or custom built, with its link, specs, location, quantity, cost, vendor, owner approvals, ordering info, holding location, and tracking. They consist of several tabs of different categories and a totals sheet that automatically calculates our spending against our allowances.
With the schedules and the plans in hand, we can get accurate bids from builders. Once a builder is chosen, they correlate these items with what is in the plans to build the home just the way we want it.
